Riviera Rivals · last updated 27 October 2026

Riviera Rivals is a free browser game. There are no accounts, no sign-up, no ads and nothing to buy. This page says what the game stores and what it sends.

Stored in your browser

The game keeps a few things in your browser's local storage so they survive a reload: your unfinished single-player game, your resort name, how many rivals and which difficulty you picked last, sound and music settings, and whether you have seen the tutorial. None of this leaves your device. Clearing your browser's site data removes it.

Play statistics

To learn how the game is played (how many people start a game, how far they get, where it crashes) the game sends anonymous events to PostHog, an analytics service. Events are things like "a game started with two Normal rivals", "round 7 finished" and "the game crashed with this error". A random identifier stored in your browser's local storage links one visit's events together. We do not ask for or record your name, email address or any account. PostHog's own policy is at posthog.com/privacy.

Some sessions are recorded as a replay of what happened on screen (where things were clicked and how panels scrolled) to find confusing moments. Text you type is included; the only text field in the game is your resort's name.

Playing with a friend

When you create or join a room, your browser connects to our relay server, which passes moves between the two players by room code. It sees your resort name and the game's moves while the room is open and keeps nothing once the room closes. The host's browser runs the game.

Fonts and assets

Everything the game needs (fonts, 3D models, sounds and music) is served from the game's own site. No third-party font or script services are loaded.

Cookies

The game sets no cookies.

Children

The game is suitable for all ages and collects no personal information from anyone.
